hello all!
i got 3 more days before uni starts. back to school... and back to using my brains. my brain hasnt been working very well these few days.
i forget everything like where im supposed to go and what im supposed to do when im out and all that. and i keep losing things. i went out of the house without taking my card (key) once but luckily my housemate had already arrived by then so i could get into the house... >< oh and i came back and looked for my the card and thought i lost it but then i found it somewhere on my very messy study table. im clearing up..., ive cleared up a few times arleady since i got here. its amazing how fast it gets messed up again!
I've been going around places in adelaide. victor harbour was okay except when we walked around granite island it felt like walking through a desert.... hot, dry, windy. it wasn't good. except that when walking through a desert you usually don't get to see water all around you and a magnificent view of a town... or do you?
Oh and happy chinese new year to those i havent wished yet! i forgot about that. it doesn't feel very chinese new year-sy here. some of us got together for a little steamboat for dinner on new years eve tho. oh ya and i also got an angpao from my friend's mum who was here.
on new years day i went to see the sunset at henley beach and had dinner there with alicia, jan, ben and ahamad.
on monday it was cheryl's birthday so we threw a party for her at my unit (cuz i was still living alone) we had about 15 girls in this little house... :)
on tuesday i was invited to have dinner at ben and adamad's house cuz they wanted us to try their cooking so i got dinner and a ride home in ben's nice red subaru car... haha. (i went with jan)
on weds i cooked dinner with my housemate who finally arrived! had pasta... not much cooking involved :P housemate's name is Wendy. she's msian chinese and studying in city west campus.
tonight i had pasta again- leftover from yesterday. with some broccoli for greens.
yesterday i went to Harbour town which i thought was a town, but i found out just the day before going that it was a shopping center. well so-called shopping center. its a couple of rows of shops ... it looks like an enclosed area but its open air... so we did some shoppiung and spent quite alot of time there. :) it took us about 50 mins to get there tho. and about an hour to get back! its a long bus ride... to the shopping center.
today i had to sort out some stuff like buying stationery and notebooks etc. so stayed home. but i still cant buy my textbooks cuz im waiting for my friend to tell me which books she wants to sell and compare prices and all that....
i had to buy safety glasses for practicals and since im wearing glasses i dont have a choice and need to get the bigger one. how glam.
so anyway. i guess thats enough of an update.
life has been interesting. :)
goodnight.

Greetings from Adelaide
:)
Adelaide has been good.
Orientation started this week. Monday- wednesday was a bunch of speeches and boring but some very useful stuff. Today i went to adelaide hills and Cleland wildlife park where i saw all the aussie animals and i think i said 'cute' too many times. Tomorrow we'll be going to victor harbour. should be interesting.
i'm still housemate-less and living alone. the girl who's supposed to be in my house is living upstairs cuz they couldnt find the key to her room and now shes doesnt want to move back cuz its too 'ma fan'. i sorta agree. anyway. i dont mind living alone. gotten quite used to it. But someone will be moving back in sometime before uni starts i think. her room is locked. and i was told shes lived here for a while now.
I've met too many people and became hi-bye friends with too many people and i dont actually have one friend i stick with yet... majority are malaysians and after being out of malaysia for such a long time i don't get along with them as well as the other msians.
i'm tired and not in the blogging mood.
pictures are up on facebook but when i have time i will go to the lib and upload pictures up here for those who dont haev facebook...
:)

23 hours
I'll be on a plane at this time tomorrow. how scary is that??
Anyway. My last few days in singapore had been pretty busy. But it's been lots of fun.
I went to chinatown with mum and sis to look at the CNY stuff since i won't be here for CNY... we also did a bit of shopping. i got a new bag and shorts :)
I finally got to watch not one, but two movies... 2 days in a row... (the last movie i watched was some time ago...) First was with dear Jennie on thursday night, and then on friday night with martina, mjelva and dom.
Met Martina again and surprised Mjelva cuz he had no clue she was going to be back :) then we played pool and watched Apocalypto (OMG that movie.... >< we thought we were all not going to sleep that night from nightmares...)
Saturday night my dad brought us to Harry's bar where some of his collegues were playing. dad said i could call dom and mjelva along so i did and they turned up. after harry's bar we went to this place called House of Blues where there was more good music from live performers. Then dad sent home mjelva (i finally got to see where he lives. he's got a rather overexcited dog :D )
and dom took a cab home from somewhere nearer home.
On Sunday i met up with marty, then we went to Chua Chu Kang where there's a mall called Lot 1 where we met dom and mjelva and played more pool. then we headed towards dom's house where his mom had prepared dinner. it was good. then we went to the night safari! that was fun. then we went back to dom's house and watched an episode of Family Guy, and we had dessert of apple crumble and ice cream (yummy!) then we played a round of uh. whats itscalled...... >< circle of death. yea. but with modified rules. then we went to bed.
Next morning (monday) i went from dom's house after breakfast to meet Wanda in SMU. we had lunch at the soup spoon and then she showed me around SMU. its a pretty nice place.
then i met jennie again also at SMU.
Yesterday i had lunch with Shobana then i went to this dodgy looking place around selegie road to collect my cheque for my work at guardian. it took me an hour to get it cuz it was all rather messed up and i got rather pissed off. but its finally sorted. so i'm happy.
Today i went to have lunch of char kuay teow and had tou fu fa at the market on farrer road. i'll miss those in aussieland... :( Then mum dropped me off at GWC so i could go to guardian and see my manager and get a reference thingie so if i ever need to find a part time job (most probably) then ill have proof that i have experience somewhere already! i also went to say bye and thanks cuz she was a sorta nice manager.
so that's my last few days. I believe this blog entry (like many others i have written) is boring u to death, so if uve survived and read up to here- thanks and congrats. haha. I'm in a blogging mood.
tomorrow i might go to botanic gardens. it's been a while since i last went there.
but i'm too lazy...
oh well. 1 more night in my beloved bed. :(
goodnight

almost almost!
Hello all!
9 more days and im off!!
and as you can probably tell already- im excited!!!
ok. enough exclamation marks.
i got my student ID number and email and stuff last night. So i can finally start enrolling in courses which is what i sorted out this evening. i have 22 hours of classes each week! and 2 of them start at 8am in the morning, and my bio prac is 4 hours long- on a friday evening. (at least, that's what i understood from the confusing internet thing which i spent ages trying to figure out) Apart from that, everything's good. hahaha. omg. i'll be so dead.
i was talking to some people during the pre-departure seminar on saturday, and theres this guy, called Kenneth- i dont know why i remember his name- he said he knows a couple of malaysian girls who study pharmacy in UniSA and they don't speak english very well, but when it comes to things about pharmacy- they're like walking, talking encyclopedias! well basically, a lot of memorising. and studying. and memorising. ill be a zombie in no time.
So anyawy. like i said i spoke to people about living in adelaide and stuff. and i think i'm quite prepared. i just have to worry about my meals. cuz i still can't cook. haha. ha. ha. ha... =S

change of plans - again.
I'm now flying to Adelaide by myself. BY MYSELF! Shit.
As much as i wanted to do that before, ive been accustomed to the idea that mum will be flying with me for an entire month almost. Then all of a sudden- i'm going myself. I need to get my head around that.
Anyway. in 2 weeks time i would have just arrived in my new home in Adelaide. I Better like it there cuz im stuck there for the next 4 years at least.
hm. i have nothing else to say. end of story i guess. im going alone. yay!

How long have we been friends?
I was out today with Dominic and Mjelva. Sometime during our time out we met up with Mjelva's brother's friend for coffee cuz Mj had to pass something to her. So we were just talking aobut stuff when she asked, "So, how long have you been friends?"
That's when i realised - I don't really know.
That's a pretty difficult question.
See, with some people, it's simple. I've been friends with Ritika, Sheila, and Jennie ever since i started school at UWC which is about 4 and a half years ago. They were in my tutorgroup. I met Shobana in my French class in grade 9 and she was really helpful since ive only done french for 1 year and i sucked pretty bad. (i still do... :P) Then she was also in my geo class! and that made me very happy. in the 4 years of UWC geo and french, Shobana was my buddy :) I've been friends with Amy since she started at SFS in grade 8. I've been friends with Jas Min, Mae Bel, Meg and Azlin since i entered MGPS in primary 4 which makes that about 9 years plus. I've been friends with Doreen, Claudia, Justina and the other St Mary's girls since Primary 1.
But for other people... the time between knowing of each others existence and becoming friends is quite... whats the word... hazy?
Steph lee, michelle angela, esther, jasmin- (steph, michelle- is it because of math with mr bush?) (michelle- english :) )
I remember M2M when we went to michelle's house supposedly to come up with a dance routine :P and lana's farwell party, and the hotel sleepover after grade 10 formal. but i never really hung out with them at school... or did i? how long have i been friends with them?
Swati- i think we started being friends in grade 11 when she ended up in my french class and she's ritika's friend. i think. i remember i spent my grade 11 with the taiwanese girls under the tent and i dont remember being very close to swati...
The taiwanese and other chinese girls- well, they were in the taiwanese UN night thing. which is how i got to know them in the first place. and because of that i ended up spending my breaks and lunches with them. I stuck with them for the rest of IB. I don't even have any classes with them. a bit strange.
There's a whole bunch of people i'm unsure about. But going back to the first two:
I've known of Dominic's existence since Grade 10. I met him and had my first conversation to him sometime in Grade 11 when we ended up in the same geography and biology class. I guess we started being friends then. That makes about 2 and a half years...
Mjelva's been in my tutorgroup since Grade 9. During my 4 years at UWC the only class i had with him (apart from ttg) is TOK where he sits at the other end of class anyway. I don't remember ever speaking to him in grade 9-10. I had a brief conversation with Ritika about mjelva and I and she said i spoke to him sometime in grade 11 and that's when we started to be friends. Maybe so. But it had to be sometime late in grade 11 cuz he was quite a stranger in TOK class. (:
I guess in the end of the day it doesn't really matter how long we've been friends for(that applies to everyone). What matters most, is that right now, we're friends. And no matter what happens i trust i'll always have someone to turn to for comfort, help and advice.
That said, with the number of people we meet in the future and the many new friends we will make, i wonder how many of our old friendships will last?

Hello all!
Last week has been good. Its nice that so many people can make it back to singapore.
i met up with a whole list of people- some i didnt plan to meet up with but got together anyway. apart from dom, swati and marty whom ive been meeting very often :) i met sheila, ritika, jennie, sofia, akki, alison, alex, chris, jon, erica, dodo...
then my paretns decide ive been out at night too much and too late and for the first time since school let out- i had a real curfew. 11pm.
i still don't know what would have happened if i didn't get back at 11. but i guess i don't want to find out. ill probably not be allowed out at nights anymore or sometihng. or have an even earlier curfew. or my parents would just be really pissed off and thats not fun.
ritika left yesterday. martina is leaving tomorrow. swati is leaving on weds. :(
im falling sick...
