porridge for lunch

i cant believe its been over 3 months since i last had porridge! i never really liked porridge so i dont miss it very much. but today i had the right ingredients and i really didnt feel like having a sandwich for lunch. plus it was kind of rainy and gloomy-ish. so i cooked porridge! ive never cooked porridge before! ok. so its supposed to be easy and everyone can cook it but still... :P i wish i had taken a picture of it. but then again porridge doesnt look very nice in pictures. its a bowl of mushy stuff...

i REALLY should stop procrastinating. i plan to finish my esssay by tonight. and i shall.
i hope to...
well, i just need to get enough done to be able to do my presentation on wednesday! agh.
ok. no can do.
i will finish my essay.

and i will get off the internet. (see, thats the problem with doing work on the computer. with my other work i can say- ok get off the computer. and- the end. but with an essay, i am working on the computer! so i cant shut it off and concentrate)

the weekend and a test.

i need to stop procrastinating. but i really can't concentrate....
chem test tomorrow at 6pm.
i have gone through the notes and i know what i have to know but i dont actually know the stuff i need to know. know what i mean?

Anyway, conie and I had an interesting weekend. I found (what i think is) the most amazing place. Its this place i discovered in the library... old and ancient looking. like at hogwarts! :P it had books that looked as if they will fall apart any moment with a note in the front cover saying that maximum loan is for 7 days and every day late they'll fine you 2 pence! Some of them looked interesting. Anyway, Conie- i want pictures! thankee you! :) Then i'll post them here. We also had margaritas (apparently adelaide's best) and finally got to see adelaide's 'boat/clarke quay' which is Hindley street. quite happening actually. its not that bad.
all in all i think it was a pretty productive weekend. some fun, some revision, some exercise and some house chores.

Another week... and the word count for my comm essay is still a big fat 0.

oh what to do. procrastination is a disease all students seem to be infected with. and there's no medication for it!

Lunch!

So. i managed to get 3 bunches of 'fancy lettuce' at the market on friday night. It was a random thing. We actually went to Coles because we had nothing else better to do on friday night (sounds rather depressing,i know...) The market is right next to Coles and it doesn't close till 9pm on fridays. Since ive never been to the market at night in adelaide, i thought why not go to the market as well? So we just walked around, and since they were closing already, lots of things were pretty cheap! so instead of our usual saturday afternoon market shopping, we ended up buying stuff we needed(or looked good) on friday night itself. Anyway, the lot of lettuce cost me $1. i couldn't resist :P So now i have a big bag of lettuce and i dont know how long it can last and not too sure what i can do with it! (apart from sandwiches and salad...)
ANyway, since ive been eating so much i thought i should go healthy for a bit. So i made a salad. but i didnt want just any ordinary salad. so i made salad with too much stuff it. but its low fat stuff! really... :P So together with the lettuce, i boiled an egg, made croutons, cut some light tasty cheddar, added some raisins, and chicken (breast meat!) and with low fat italian dressing (it doesnt have the usual layer of oil on top... heheh...) omg i sound like a health freak. i swear im not.
Without further ado... presenting.....
THE SALAD

Looks good? i hope so.. it was good. haha.
almost finished...

gone :(

ok. so i was on a photo taking and blogging mood so i took those pictures for blogging purposes. :)

i now have a box of donuts in front of me and im trying very hard not to touch that until later this evening.... ><

hope everyone is having yummy lunches as well.

have a nice day! :)

response to stitch...

math here is just as horrifying though! plus, what makes it worse is that there are fewer people i can get help from. and my lecturer is based in a different campus so shes only here twice a week.
i'm quite glad i dont have english essays nor bio/chem labs to write up though. :) i guess in way i do miss them because its not very hard (im referring to lab write ups!) just very tedious, but when done its very satisfying! and english essays also v satisfying to see it done. hehe.
I learnt so much during high school i find it weird im going to be learning so much more now in a shorter time.
its amazing how much our brain can take.
but then again by the end of my few years here i think i will forget a lot of my english lit 'skills' and i don't want to forget what onomatopoeia, synesthesia, paradox and other mumble jumble english/greek words mean. im already forgetting... and i think if i'm given a seamus heaney poem now and asked to do an oral comentary, or even a written one i would die.
:(
oh and geography. i already forgot all my case studies :) my housemate was asking me what i did in geography class cuz she never did geo and i found it very hard to explain what we did cuz i dont remember! i havent forgotten the whole rivers, coasts, volcanoes, earthquakes, formation of other stuff part, but the human geog is goneeee
oh well.

now i'm just rambling. hehe.

life has changed...

and its not bad.

Have a happy May!
