first week

i just finished my first week of uni and i'm alive! :) i guess since its my first week i really SHOULD be alive. lots of introductions and simple revision work. Plus there was no tutorials for chem and math which reduces my number of classes. All of that will happen next week though. and on top of that i already have homework now so i really should keep on top of my work :P

SO this weekend ill make sure i get whats going on in chem, make notes for bio, and finish bioprac homework which is quite a lot!

about knowing whats going on in chem... my lecturer doesnt really stop. she goes on and on even with questions, its like ok. heres an example and heres the answers. without even giving us some time to read through or try it... and whats worse is her voice. she mumbles sometimes and she speaks in this monotone voice...
at least we dont have 2 hour lectures for chem. we have 3 1hr session. but i don tknow if thats really better. it means we need to meet her 3 times a week.

Anyway im VERY glad i did bio in IB. At the rate they're going in lectures i wonder how the people who don't do bio understand whats going on. we had a 1 hr lecture today about cells and went through everything in a eukaryote cell, and he even managed to talk about ribosomes and the synthesis of protein from DNA... oh and we ended the lecture talking about mitochondrions and ADP+p= atp i mean, if u never did bio i dont think u'd know what atp is. i didnt know until we studied that in grd 12... and to think bio isnt a prerequisite for most courses. im glad we dont do much physics. thers some in chem but its just the gas laws and stuff which we did in class anyway.

I hate the lecture hall tables! so far we've used 3 different lecture halls. the one in the picture below is the best one. its all nice and new and colorful and the tables are good. in the other 2 halls, the tables are those on the side... and they KEEP ON FALLING! well, thankfully it hasnt happened to me yet (at least not during the lecture) but sometime in the middle of the lecture, without fail, at least a couple of people's tables would fall.. and everythign would fall... and the tables are so small! and in math say you want to have a calculator on the table, with the notes, and maybe some spare paper or something and thers just NO place. and i like to make my notes colorful and readible so i need many pens and thers no place for them on the table mainly cuz the table sorta leans forward a bit so everythignw ill just roll down and cannot write if my book is straight so i cant use my book to stop them rolling...
probably not making sense to you but whatever. the point is- the lecture hall tables suck and i like school tables so much better . you can put anything anywhere and it wont roll off or fall down and thers a lot more space!

aynway my comm tutorial has 12 people and thats nice. i thinkew have the oldest and youngest pharmacy student in the class. thers a guy whos 16 turning 17 this year, and a guy whos had another degree, and owns his own business already and just wants to study this for job security and all that. its weird.

I think i've rambled enough about school.

my housemate cooks. so i have lots to eat all the time... at the rate im eating i might put on weight even before winter starts! btw it was about 39degC today. it was hot. but i ate like a pig anyway. its horrible.

i need to learn how to make a good omelete. my omelette today ended up looking like scrambled eggs. tasted fine tho.
i need to learn a lot of things.

hmmph. its the weekend again. and i got no plans.
i should study. but i need to go out and have some fun. im bored. ive been bored for too long.

anyway today i met a malay girl in my bioprac class (she sat next to me). when we were going home i found out she lives in the same apartment as me. what a coincidence.. there were a couple of other malay girls in that class. and the one who lives in my apartment sat next to me. so i found another neighbour from malaysia.

ok enough rambling. back to work? no i think ill visit my friends if theyre in and chill abit then work.... :) but i WILL work this weekend. dont worry!
