Summer Holidays with Pictures

Nov 30th: Flew from Adelaide Airport to Changi airport Singapore.

Had a yummy lunch in JB the following day with my uncle's family.

the table looks pathetically empty but trust me the food was good. we had more food after that. i was too excited about the food to take more pics :P

Then we headed to KL, and the next morning, we flew to Cambodia.

With my family- of 17 people.

A week after that, we were back in KL and had a good BBQ dinner.

Then off to penang we go. We decided it was a good idea to practice some driving around the housing area since its been ages since my sis or i drove after we got our license. Unfortunately we got stopped by the police. I blame it on the bright yellow Jazz with a singaporean plate. and we didn't bring out our license! but the police was nice... after finding out we were malaysians. When i was driving home, we came across what looked like log lying across the road. We didn't remember it being there when we were heading out. Then when we got closer we realised it MOVED and it turned out to be a massive phyton.

Finally, it was time to go back to singapore.

Where we stayed in a service apartment called Somerset (the one in front)...However singapore time was cut short and before i knew it i was in malaysia again, this time in Kuantan, where all my cousins were, where we had a nice BBQ for christmas. Too bad i don't have a group picture.
One week later i found myself in singapore again....
for the Christmas decorations...
Fun...And friends...After 3 weeks in Singapore where i celebrated the New Year with my UWC friends, met my adelaide bestie, went ice skating, made nepalese dumplings, drank too much, and ate too much...
I headed off to KL with my sis.
KL changed a lot from what i remmeber it to be. well to be honest, i dont remember KL much at all. But the transport system was a lot better than i expected it to be. Met up with some Adelaide friends there and did some window shopping. My bag was too full because it was little and i had to go to Penang after that to do some work experience...
So this is the kitchen in my ahma's house in penang.During my first week in Penang was the Thaipusam celebration. I've never seen the celebration before so my aunt brought me out to see. I worked in Glad Hope Pharmacy for 2 weeks. Was quite bored... So i converted the pharmacy from this...To this...CNY Decorations! because CNY was near...
On my flight back from Penang i looked out of the window and saw what i believe heaven should look like... I went back to singapore because my bro was coming back on new year's eve and my mum thought it would be nice for the whole family to be together for the usual reunion dinner on the eve of new year. o yea, and we also moved into a new house so there was work to help out with. This is my family having steamboat for dinner on CNYeve.
The next morning we drove to Penang to visit relatives and do usual CNY things...

At my dad's high school annual reunion, i got to meet my dad's friends' kids whom we've got to know quite well over our once-a-year meetings.

Then it was off to Kuantan to see my grandpa, and visit the beloved Teluk Cempedak beach before we head back to Australia.

My last week i spent in Singapore meeting some other people i haven't had the chance to meet like Jennie, Jae, and Renet. It was a fun last week. I went shopping with mum, had a make-over (nothing big... just for fun. it was free :)), had lunches and dinners with friends, played pool, and had one of the funnest night out yet. And thanks to Wanda for letting me stay over at her place cuz my new home is quite far from the city...

Saturday 23rd Feb: My parents and Mjelva (thanks for coming!) sent me off at Changi Airport. I arrived in adelaide the following morning...

THE END!

ohmygoodness! what a story. i would've gone mad with all the traveling and lack-of-home-ness, but you seem to have handled it pretty well (and had a lot of fun along the way). thanks for the long email; i'm going to reply it this weekend when i get the chance to relax!! sigh. things are so busy here! but anyway, hope you are readjusting to Adelaide life - talk to you soon :)
